Hey guys, it’s me, John, and let me tell you about my experience with the House of the Dead Overkill for Nintendo Wii (Renewed). First of all, can we just take a moment to appreciate the title? Pulp funk horror Zombie cool at its finest? Yes please! As a fan of shooter classics, I was beyond excited to see this game injected with a whole new retro b-movie look. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The non-stop light-gun shooting action had me on the edge of my seat, blowing apart zombies left and right for those sweet high-score thrills. I mean, who doesn’t love dismembering zombies in an utterly in-your-face way?
Next up is my buddy Tom, who joined me for some gripping co-op action on the Wii. Let me just say, playing this game solo is fun and all, but grabbing a friend and playing it as intended in our own buddy action movie was next level cool. We felt like two of the coolest characters in video gaming as we took down hordes of zombies together. Plus, using “Slow-Mofo Time” to make the perfect head-popping shot and “Evil Eye” to spot moments of opportunity that would send the whole environment up in flames was just too much fun.
Last but not least is my girl Sarah. She may not be a gamer like us guys, but she sure knows how to work those lightning quick Wii Remote reactions. It was so entertaining to watch her get knee-deep in the dead with motion-sensitive controls. I swear she was having more fun than we were! And let’s not forget about pumping that shotgun, slamming a fresh mag home in that 9-mil, and working that lever-action rifle like a pro. Needless to say, this game is a blast for gamers and non-gamers alike.
